Jeff Byrnes’ blog about music, gigging in Boston, & random cool geeky things.
Here you can find a list of my current and past projects, as well as my body of recorded works and radio airplay. Samples are forthcoming.
A singer/songwriter who reminds me of Bill Withers, Tony’s music is a very fun and danceable mix of rock & soul, with a dash of reggae. Currently we have an album for sale, Music For A Shrinking World, which was released in Feburary 2008.
A talented vocalist & songwriter, Maria’s music comes from a jazz tradition of strong harmony & improvisation, but is firmly rooted in R&B, soul, and world music. Besides her website, you can also visit her Myspace page to learn more & listen to samples.
I has been playing bass with Matt since the very beginning, back in Spring of 2003. The group has gone through three different iterations since then, and currently is a trio, and, as always, features Matt’s pop-rock piano writing.
Chet is a four piece bluegrass-rock group featuring the songwriting of Will Mitchell & Joe Koubek. More can be learned of this group at their website, or at Chet’s MySpace page
Boston Common is Jonnie “Boomboom” Wiegratz’s 8-piece R&B/Dance cover band, featuring the music of James Brown, Prince, Sly & the Family Stone, and other classic soul hits, along with more current R&B & pop tunes. If you’ve got a wedding or bar gig that needs a killin’ dance band, this is the group to call. While I no longer perform with Boston Common, the group still exists, and they’re still killin’ it!
One of the first groups I joined upon arriving at Berklee; Jeff performed with Rachel Black from 2003 until 2005. Rachel now resides in NYC.
Jeff’s band from high school in Charlotte, which included his three good friends, Matt Maher, Greg Martin, and Tim Rebich.

I'm Jeff Byrnes, a bassist, web coder, avid reader, and Mac user. I'm currently employed by Apple as an iPod Genius at one of its retail stores, but I also code websites freelance part-time, and gig constantly for a rotating cast of bands.
This blog is primarily just a collection of my thoughts, although you can find links to my XHTML / CSS coding CV as well as my musical CV.
